Meet Dr. Tricker
Originally from Northern Indiana, Dr. Tricker obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. Upon graduation from Indiana University School of Dentistry, he proudly began his military service in the United States Army. Dr. Tricker completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program followed by his residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Tripler Army Medical Center, Hawaii. He served as the Chief Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Wuerzburg, Germany. Dr. Tricker completed his military career at Madigan Army Medical Center, in Washington state where he was honored to serve as an instructor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Residency Program as well as the director of oral surgery for the AEGD program. He has active privileges at Martha Jefferson Hospital serving as the Chief of the Oral and Maxilliofacial Surgery Section. Dr. Tricker has multiple publications, and has had the privilege of teaching and lecturing locally and internationally.
Dr. Tricker is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. Dr. Tricker is also a member and past President of the Charlottesville Albemarle Dental Society. He has membership in the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Society, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the Virginia Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Tricker enjoys all aspects of meeting his patients’ oral and facial needs. His areas of special interests include dental implantology, immediate implant placement, hybrid implant dentistry “teeth in a day,” and tooth extraction/bone preservation. Dr. Tricker has extensive training and experience with pediatric oral surgery and sedation. As a father of two young children, he enjoys connecting with his pediatric patients and their parents to provide safe, well informed, and compassionate care. Dr. Tricker is especially dedicated to meeting and exceeding your treatment goals while comforting your concerns and worries during all aspects of your care in and out of the office.
In his free time, Dr. Tricker is an active community member donating time, knowledge, and support to various community and religiously related outreach programs. He serves on the Board and hosts a monthly evening treating patients in need at the Charlottesville Free Clinic. Dr Tricker and his family feel blessed to live in Charlottesville. When not at work you might find Dr. Tricker at home tending to his bees, chickens, and garden. Or you might catch him out and about mountain biking or on a family hike with his wife, children, and aussiedoodle enjoying the beautiful outdoor opportunities found in central Virginia.
